Multi-factor authentication (MFA)

2-step verification (also called multi-factor authentication - MFA) is a method of authentication that requires the use of more than one verification method and adds a second layer of security to user sign-ins and transactions. It works by requiring any two or more of the following verification methods:

·         A randomly generated pass code via text

·         A phone call

Signing up for MFA is NOT required when using any computer, or mobile phone connected either wired, or wirelessly to our network. You must verify your identity only if you wish to use services like email or your calendar when you are away from campus.

To make Office O365 available away from campus on your laptop or phone click on: https://aka.ms/mfasetup

On the page below, enter the phone number where you would like to receive the Microsoft verification code.

You will receive a 6-digit code to be entered in the screen below.

Once set up, you will be required to authenticate your account every 60 days.

Note:  Your phone number will not be provided to advertisers.  It will only be used to keep your account safe.
